Sessions

Hunky Dory runs different sessions during term time and weekends/school holidays. See below for more information.

Term Time

We know that your day with your little one can differ wildly to what you thought it would be! While you may plan to arrive for 9.30am, your child may have other ideas, or a surprise nap may keep you from your planned midday arrival! This is why we offer OPEN PLAY sessions Monday-Friday during Hampshire term time weeks. Simply book a ticket online for the day you want, turn up at a time that suits you and stay for as long as you like! We are open from 9.30am to 2.30pm and have an extensive range of cakes, snacks and lunches if you want to make a day of it!

Summer Opening Hours

Monday- Friday 9.30-2.30pm
Saturdays – 9.30-11.30am, 12-2pm, 2.30-4.30pm
Sundays- CLOSED (Party Bookings only)

Weekends and School Holidays

On weekends and Hampshire school holidays we have 3 play sessions of 2 hours each. We have a 30 minute space in between each session to reset the play centre and ensure it looks absolutely picture perfect for our guests! Booking during these times is recommended to avoid disapppointment and do check online to see if the session you want is available.

Weekend session times are;

9.30 – 11.30
12.00 – 2.00
2.30 – 4.30

Our sessions help us to keep everything squeaky clean for each session, with everything put into place and cleaned for the next guests. We also run parties in these sessions, and if you’re interested in that please check out our party information.

The start of your session

Please check into Hunky Dory at the start of your session and say hello to one of our Play Facilitators. Children may want to find their feet and start on the village green and enjoy some dressing up, playing on our horses or maybe even have a tea party! Alternatively, they may want to race upstairs to our High Street and get playing in our shops right away! (we find this is a great opportunity for adults to settle themselves into a table and order a cuppa!)

What to expect

Once your children have had some time exploring Hunky Dory village, they might be lucky enough to meet a villager! In some of our sessions a Play Facilitator will interact with the children and immerse them in a fun story or challenge. Some children will jump at the chance of being involved and others will want to do their own thing. Whether our little guests choose to get involved or are engrossed in their own play, it is perfectly fine- this is their play experience, and they can enjoy it however they like.

During Open sessions you can leave whenever you like- just give us a wave! If your child is finding it tricky to leave (some find it hard to tear themselves away!) we are experts in helping the grown-up with a little sticker incentive! If you’ve visited over a weekend or school holiday, we’ll play our Tidy Up song to signal that your session is over. We’ll warmly thank you for coming and send you and your child on your way with smiles on your faces!

Thanks so much for choosing to spend your spare time with us. We never, ever take it for granted.
